Sharon Kay (Begemann) Brandt

Sharon Kay (Begemann) Brandt, 72, entered into rest on Saturday, March 25th, 2023.

Sharon was born on June 24th, 1950, in Jefferson City, MO, to Pete and Helen Begemann. She was a loving mother and wife, who took great pride in her family. Sharon recently celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary to her husband Leon, and together they shared their love and made so many memories. 

Sharon grew up in Hartsburg, MO. She was a graduate of Southern Boone County High School in Ashland, MO. She spent most of her life working for various doctors offices as an administrative assistant and as an office manager. Away from work, she spent most of her time travelling and being with her family. She loved following her kids and grandchildren to the ballpark, where she would cheer them on.

Sharon also had a great love for the outdoors and was most fond of the time she got to spend in the Great Smoky Mountains. She loved the mountains and the wildlife that she often encountered. When Sharon was sitting on a porch rocker overlooking the mountains and scenery, you could feel and see the peace that she was experiencing.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Helen Begemann of Hartsburg, MO. She is survived by her husband, Leon Brandt of Grovetown, GA; her children, Tim (Kim) Ortmeyer of Valdosta, GA, Mike (Kim) Ortmeyer of Duncanville, TX, and Lindsey (Bert) Kitchen of Grovetown, GA; her sister, Sue (Dwight) Kuda of Centralia, MO; brothers, Jim (Sarah) Begemann of Columbia, MO, and Brian (Julie) Begemann of Ashland, MO; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held at a later time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at www.friendsofthesmokies.org/donate in memory of Sharon.
