Mr. Roger Lee Taylor, husband of Sharon Lee Taylor, peacefully entered into rest at home on July 19, 2021. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd. Martinez GA 30907.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Samuel Taylor & Fern Evelyn Premo; brothers- Roy Taylor, Jim Taylor, Bobby Calkins; sisters- Pat Taylor & Carol Smythe. His surviving family includes his wife Sharon Taylor, of the home; sons Kieth (Deborah) Taylor, Ross (Katherine) Taylor and granddaughter Cora Leigh Taylor.
Roger was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on April 1, 1948 and lived a very active and happy life. He graduated from Lincoln Senior High School, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1966, after high school he was drafted into the United States Army and sent to Vietnam. He served his country proudly for over 20 years. After he retired out of the Army he went to work at the Savannah River Plant where he continued to work as a Health Protection employee for 15 years until his retirement.
Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman. He took great joy in spending time with his wife and children. His granddaughter Cora Leigh was the light of his life, he would light up every time he was around Cora Leigh. Roger was the most caring and loving man who would give you the shirt off his back if he knew it would help. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Thomas L.
