Ricky "Rick" Lynn Gant, 59, entered into rest on August 29, 2023.

Rick was born on March 8, 1964, to Jerry Fredrick Gant and Elizabeth Watkins Gant, in Decatur, Illinois. After graduating from Stephen Decatur High School, he went on to study at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Rick also earned a Masters of Higher Education at the University of South Carolina.

Rick is survived by his children, William Russell Gant and Kathleen Stewart Gant; his mother, Elizabeth Gant; his sisters, Amanda Taylor and her husband Jesse of Foley AL, and Rebecca Green of Laramie WY; nieces and nephews, Asher Taylor, Jeslyn Taylor, Shelby Gant, Chelsea Wright, Devon Gant, Jon Green and Paul Breyfogle. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Gant; and his brother, Steven Douglas Gant.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
