Ricky Flinchum

Richard Bobby “Ricky Bobby” Flinchum of Augusta, GA passed away June 28, 2021.  He was just 27 years old. He was tragically taken from us in a vehicle accident after having a seizure while heading to work. Ricky was born February 17, 1994. Ricky was a loving father, husband, son, “big” little brother, and friend.  He had a huge heart, a beautiful soul, and a sense of humor. Ricky was hard working and was always willing to lend a hand. He worked for many years as a caddie at Sage Valley and Baltusrol Golf Courses, and was most recently employed with Green Energy Biofuel where he continued to learn and utilize his talents. Ricky enjoyed playing music, singing, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, sports, playing golf and disc golf, and spending time with family and friends. Ricky loved his family. He grew up learning about music and sports from his father, and he enjoyed being with his mother who taught him about Jesus, lessons he passed on to his two children, Samuel and Cooper. Samuel and Cooper meant the world to Ricky. He cherished every moment and adventure he had with them.

In addition to Samuel and Cooper, Ricky is survived by their mother, Macy Flinchum; his father and mother, Richard and Kathy Flinchum; sisters who will greatly miss their favorite brother: Hannah Goodwin (Matthew), Leah Atkins (C.J.), Katie Flinchum, Naomi Allen (Josh); grandfather: Bobby Hattaway; in-laws: Lori and Gilbert Smith;  many nieces and nephews, friends, and the Livingston and Montgomery families.

Ricky was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Betty Hattaway and Miriam Flinchum; grandfather: Allen Shohat; Great Uncle: Sam Hattaway; nephew: Ryan Goodwin

We can just imagine Ricky “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and hugging Jesus. Gone too soon, but not forgotten.

Funeral Arrangements will be July 6, 2021 at Calvary Augusta Church, 3633 Peach Orchard Road Augusta, Ga. viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the service starting at 11:00AM with Pastor J. Toro officiating. Interment will be held at Piney Grove Church Cemetery, 5060 Mike Padgett Hwy, following the service.
