Richard Ernest Peterson, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5th, 2023.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Jill (Matt) and Jenny (Sanjay); his son, Jeff (Colleen); four grandchildren; his brother, Jack; and his sisters, Tara and Lynn. He was predeceased by his wife Donna, who died in March; his mother, Edna; his father, Ernie; and his other brother, Roy.

Richard served in the Coast Guard before becoming an officer for 12 years in the Chicago Police Department. Later in life, he changed careers to become a project manager overseeing installations and repair of many electrical power plant steam turbines in the Midwest.

He will be missed by us all.

There are no events planned, as Richard did not wish to have services. Donations may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( https://www.stjude.org/ ) as an alternative to flowers.
