Richard Boyleston Obituary

Richard Eugene Boyleston, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, March 16, 2023. 

He was born in Pine Hill Community on July 23, 1941, to the late Serenus K. Boyleston and Lucy Raulerson Boyleston Davis. 

After graduating from Edisto High School and Berry College, he joined the Air Force where he worked as a  medical technologist. When he finished his time of service he moved to Augusta and attended The Medical College of Georgia where he attained his bachelor’s degree as a Medical Technologist.

He was employed by the Veterans Administration and Indian Health Services. In his retirement years, he enjoyed many travel adventures with his grandson, including driving to Alaska.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Bozard, Ruth Phillips, Kathleen Fanning, Emily Stubenrauch, and Martha Boyleston; and his brother, John Robert Boyleston.

Survivors include his two children, Peter (Molly) Boyleston of Martinez, Ga, and Pamela Boyleston and her husband Matt Harringer of Anchorage, Alaska; one grandson, Preston Tyler Boyleston and ex-wife Elizabeth Goldberg of Martinez, Ga; one sister-in-law, Loretta Boyleston of Orangeburg, SC; and many nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Double Branch Baptist Church, 3567 Neeses Highway Orangeburg, SC.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Richard’s memory to a charity of your choice.
