Nancy Walters Obituary

Nancy J Walters, age 78, passed away peacefully Dec. 7, 2020. She was born Jan 31, 1942 to Lidie and Agnes Clements. She was married to the love of her life, Gary Walters Sr. for over 50 years who preceded her in death in 2017. She lived a life of service, her hands were rarely still, her servants’ heart wouldn’t let her be. She set the wonderful example for her family and friends, giving of her life so much, caring for those who were nearing the end of theirs, or visiting the young and the old in her neighborhood. She always had a kind word, food on the table, laughter in her heart and a twinkle in her eye. She loved life, loved people, and strived to make her part of the world a better place. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 -- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you.” She always used to say: “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person.” Nancy was a dedicated mother and wife first and foremost. She treasured here children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She had a vivacious personality and made friends everywhere she went. She is the loving and devoted mother of Gary Walters Jr., his wife Angie, their children Dawn, Gary III, and Austin. Troy Walters and his wife, Millisa, their children Evan and Andrew. Eric Walters and his wife, Maren. Carolyn Hackett, and husband Terence, their children Heather, Raymond, Stephen, and Danielle. 11 great grandchildren as well. We would be remiss if we didn't mention her “special” child, her beloved dog, Godiva. She doted on her so much. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be on hold until an undetermined time, due to the Pandemic, she would want everyone safe. We will let everyone know the exact date as we all get through this unprecedented time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society or ICU floor in your area.
