Nancy Szakal

Nancy Louise Szakal, entered into rest on September 4th 2021. The day was spent around her loved ones, holding hands and sharing memories. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 1:00PM - 3:00PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd. Martinez GA. 
She is preceded in death by both parents, Eunice and Ernest Tennant (SC). 4 Siblings, and Son-Frank Szakal (GA). 

Her surviving family includes her daughters- Deborah Blodgett-Ryan (GA), Belinda Blodgett (GA), and Rhonda Szakal (GA); son- Steve Szakal (CO); loyal dog; Baby (GA), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is terribly missed. 

Nancy was known to many as “Ma/Granny”. Her bright blue eyed smile would light up any room, especially when she laughed. She loved creating a home where everyone was welcome. Her Southern cooking and gentle soul made all who knew her, feel full of life. 

She was an expert and avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Year after year, she followed and tracked various players and coaches. During the season you could always catch her coaching and cheering them on, from her home screen. Armed and ready with her ice cold Coca Cola, Werthers Originals, and Mr. Goodbars, ready to see the Braves step up to play. 

Nancy made a difference in the lives of all that were around her with laughter, kindness, and brave spirit. She will be missed by her family and friends and we find comfort knowing we'll see her again.
