Mitchell Pulliam Obituary

Mitchell Joe Pulliam, beloved father, brother, and friend to many, was entered into rest on Sunday, May 15, 2022, peacefully at his residence.

Mitchell “Mitch” was born on January 12, 1951, in Augusta, GA, to the late Lonnie Joe Pulliam and late Susie Belle Pulliam. He was a graduate from Richmond Academy class of 1971. After graduation, Mitch married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Ann Moore Pulliam. Together they had Margo Lynn Pulliam. He spent many years with the Augusta Police Department before transitioning to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department. Mitch also shared two sons with his former wife, Ann Marie Cuiry Pulliam, Matthew Jason Pulliam and Andrew Michael Pulliam. He spent many years serving and protecting in many capacities with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office to including road patrol, CID as well as civil and criminal court. He retired in 2010 from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office after 39 years of service. Mitch was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His passion for hunting, fishing, and archery grew from his early years as a young boy. He and his dad spent countless days in the woods together. He passed his love for these sports down to his own sons. He loved the mountains and traveling there with his family on yearly vacations. Mitch also had a love for antique cars. He enjoyed going to the Rod Run every year in Pidgeon Forge.

Mitch is survived by his daughter, Margo Pulliam-Lind; granddaughter, Ashley Hope Pulliam of Martinez, GA; His son, Matthew Jason Pulliam;  grandson, Finley Gage Pulliam of Evans, GA; His son, Andrew Michael Pulliam of Thomson, GA; His sister, Vickey Pulliam Nobles (Doyle Nobles) of Hephzibah, GA; His nephew, Daryl Nobles (Stacie Nobles) and their daughter, Katherine Belle Nobles of Charleston, SC; As well as two lifelong friends, Paul West (Debbie West) and Ken Eskew (Sylvia Eskew).

The family will receive friend for a celebration of life visitation held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907
