Mitchell Franklin Armstrong passed away on November 8, 2021 at his home in Grovetown Georgia. He was born August 11, 1960, in Dayton Ohio. He was the son of the late William (Billy) and Juanita Armstrong.
Mitch always considered Texas his “home state” and as we all know, he was a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys. “Louie” was a member of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association GA 25-6 and enjoyed riding his Harley and the brotherhood this group provided.
He served in the US Army from 1978-1996 as a Military Police Officer and Patrol Dog Handler, 10th Special Forces Group Airborne ODA-073 Halo, and proudly served in Desert Storm and Provide Comfort 91. Mitch was a Sergeant First Class (E-7) and a Bronze Star recipient. He received an Honorable Discharge from the US Army in 1996. He worked for Fluor and other various security contractors overseas from 2003-2019, then retired to his home in Grovetown.
Mitch was preceded in death by his father William (Billy) and mother, Juanita Armstrong; and his nephews Chris & Jamie Parker.
He is survived by his daughter Tara Armstrong Poulin (Hayden Poulin), and two grandchildren Rylan Armstrong and Ainsley Makenna Poulin, a step-grandchild Kendra Poulin, sisters Cassie Parker (Rick), and Pansy Murray (Steve), brother Mike Armstrong (Kimberly), nephew Sean Parker.
A graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park (casual dress) located at 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Georgia on Saturday, November 13 , 2021 at 10:00 am, the family will receive friends at 1885 Long Creek Falls, Grovetown, Georgia (Ivy Falls) at 1:00 pm for a celebration of life. I
