Millege Enfinger Obituary

Mr. Millege Gene Enfinger, 92, entered into eternal peace and rest on Tuesday, December 07, 2021.

Mr. Enfinger is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ingeborg L. Enfinger; his sister, Mary Nell McKinney of Esto, Florida; his two brothers, Archie J. Enfinger of Dothan, Alabama and William “Buddy” H. Enfinger of Summerdale, Alabama.

Mr. Enfinger was the son of the late Arch G. and Mary Lou White Enfinger of Esto, Florida. He was a native of Esto, Florida and had made Grovetown, Georgia his home from 1959 to the present. Mr. Enfinger retired from the United States Army after more than 20 years of service to his country. He served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Cold War. Mr. Enfinger was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, and many other awards during his military service. He became a Master Barber in 1969 and began his own business of Gene’s Barbershop in Grovetown in the 1970’s. Mr. Enfinger retired from the barber business in 2015 after 46 years of customer service due to health reasons. The family wishes to thank all the customers of Gene’s Barbershop for their loyal patronage throughout the years. Mr. Enfinger enjoyed dancing, fishing, reading, watching classic movies, and working in his shop.

Survivors include one son: Mark Enfinger of Seneca, SC; one stepson, Gerhardt Arnold and wife Ursula of Mannheim, Germany; one daughter, Linda Phillips and husband Samuel of Grovetown, GA; five grandchildren: Marc Arnold and wife Maren of Mannheim, Germany; Matthew Phillips and wife Bethany of Grovetown, GA; Westley Enfinger and wife Megan of Williamston, SC; Nicole Phillips-Brown and husband Joseph of Grovetown, GA; Gage Enfinger and fiancée Jessica Kilpatrick of Seneca, SC; seven great grandchildren: Vincent Arnold, Amelie Arnold, Caelyn Phillips, Blayke Phillips, Ryan Enfinger, Logan Enfinger and Lincoln Brown; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Wynelle Enfinger of Clio, AL; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Virginia Wells and husband Alan of Dothan, AL; Martha Williams and husband Sam of Dothan, AL; one sisterin-law, Bertha Enfinger of Summerdale, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Mrs. Rhonda Vann (our “Angel” sent from heaven and personal caregiver) and the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home (especially the 3rd Floor Staff) for which they are deeply appreciative and thankful. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Augusta University Medical Center, Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration, and Eisenhower Army Medical Center for a lifetime of healthcare and their thoughtfulness, dedication to caring for others, and pride in their work.

Family will receive friends at the Bellevue Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 11, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held at the Bellevue Memorial Cemetery on December 11, 2021 at 11:00 am. (Mask required for services)
