Mildred Guillebeau Scott passed peacefully with family around her on January 8, 2023.
Mrs. Mildred Guillebeau Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Watson Scott, Sr. of Augusta, Georgia.; her father and mother, Charles Newton Guillebeau and Ollie Sweatmon Guillebeau; three sisters, Mary G. Finch, Sarah G. Anthony, and June G. Manley; and one brother, Frank Guillebeau.
Survivors include one brother, Pierce Guillebeau of Augusta, Georgia; five sons, Willie R. Scott of Augusta, Georgia, Thomas W. Scott Jr. of Augusta, Georgia, David M. Scott (Faith) of Martinez, Georgia, Paul T. Scott of Harlem, Georgia, and Nathan K. Scott (Patricia) of Evans, Georgia; three daughters, Elizabeth S. Cipolla (Jay) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Janice Haley (late John) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Yvonne McKinnon (late Joe) of Martinez, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Mildred was a Sunday school teacher and member of Apostolic Christian Tabernacle for many years. Mildred was also a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She volunteered and worked at the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care over twenty years and also provided in home care for many with Alzheimer’s. Mildred’s entire life was about loving and caring for others because that is what brought her the most joy.
The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 12th, 2023, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on January 12th, 2023, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home with Pastor Dewain French officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
