Marilyn Cooper Obituary

Our loving mother, wife and sister in Christ Marilyn Yvonne Cooper went home to glory September 17th, 2020. A cryptside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Bellevue  Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with pastors David Brooks and Jerry Pittman officiating.
Mrs. Cooper was a lifelong resident of Columbia County, Ga. She actually resided on the same few acres of property almost all of her 85 years. Mrs. Cooper was a truly loving and caring soul that spent most of her life caring for others. She only worked a handful of jobs when she was younger and then she devoted the rest of her life taking care of her 3 children, her husband and her ailing mother the last 15 years of her life. Mrs. Cooper was a fairly petite woman but cross her or especially her family and she’d let you know real quick “I may not be big but dynamite comes in small packages” lol.
Her selflessness to help others and her ability to always maintain her kindness and class was an inspiration to all that came in contact with her. Mrs. Cooper was a great example of a Christian, she always tried to see the best in all people and would try to get you to do the same in her own loving special way.
Mrs. Cooper suffered from Alzheimer’s for the last 7 of her 85 years. If you’ve never personally experienced Alzheimer’s it’s an awful disease. It not only affects the individual but everyone around them is devastated by its relentless attacks. Today she suffers no more, we know she is walking in the garden with the lord and will never feel pain or sadness again. We can go on knowing she is happy and that we will see her again one day.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her father  George Brinson Wilkins Sr, her mother Sara G. Wilkins and her son Gary Lee Cooper Sr.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband Cole W. Cooper Jr, her brothers George Brinson Wilkins Jr and John Robert Wilkins Sr. Her daughter Carole Campbell (Travis) and her son Michael D. Cooper (Jessica). 6 grandchildren Gary Lee Cooper Jr, Falon Cooper Wren, Jeremy Pearson, Devon Campbell, Emma Cooper and Anna Gleaton. 7 great grandchildren, Spencer Cooper, Gary Lee Cooper III, Rainey Cooper, Stormy Cooper, BreAnne Page, Madilyn Wren, Summer Pearson. 5 great great grandchildren Alan Cooper, Paisley Cooper, Bristol Cooper, CaliRay Cooper, Leighton Cooper.
