Marie Georgette (Shepard) Carver

Marie Georgette Shepard Carver entered into her eternal rest June 15, 2021. Marie was born in Augusta, Ga at University Hospital on August 16th, 1960 to her mother, Norma Jean Reese (Maiden) & Byron Shepard. Marie, who most have known as Rita, was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Shepard, her mother, Norma Jean, and brother-in-law, Daryl Knight. Rita was married to Curtis Edward Carver for 48 years. Together they have two sons, Curtis (Ashley) & Gordon (MacKenzie), one adopted son, Jeremiah Levi, & six beautiful grandchildren; Hinton Tankerslee, Willow Marie-Lynn, Garron Davis, Harper Jean, Mabel Reese, & Ronan Edward. She was also survived by her loving sister, Terry Knight, 3 beloved nephews, James (Nicole), Jonathan & David, a precious great niece, Charlotte Olivia and her stepfather and pastor, Oscar Whiteside Jr. Rita was a charter member of Living Waters Church, she worked at Martinez Elementary School for almost 10 years, she was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, and niece. She loved her family very much, and spent most of her life cooking, cleaning, & baking for the sick, her friends and family. She was known for her lively and whimsical dress, her dazzling jewelry, and personality to top it all. She loved to laugh, play pranks and jokes on friends and family & live her life to the fullest every day! Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 19th at 11am and memorials & flowers will be received by Living Waters Church; 1319 Community Park Rd Augusta Ga 30909.
