“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalms 23:1-4
Maria Clara Capistran was 18 years of age when she passed peacefully Monday February 5, 2024. Anyone that knew Maria loved her, it was easy to love her, she had such a big heart her innocence made it hard not to love her. She loved to argue with everyone, was very outspoken and was quick to tell everyone to go away and to leave her alone. Now she never did it to be mean, it was just who she was. I know I would do anything to hear her yell at me again and then tell me she loved me. No matter how mad or frustrated she got with me, she would always make sure and tell me she loved me. She was like that with everyone. She truly had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many. I can still hear her singing her One Direction songs, every time I saw her, she would say, “Tia me and you like One Direction right Tia”, and I would say “yeah baby girl we love One Direction”. To be honest though I think I have listened to One Direction more since she passed than when she was here with us. Maria was supposed to graduate from North Augusta High School in May of this year with her friends, who she loved. There was never a day when she got home from school that she did not tell everyone about her day at school with her best friends. Maria’s biggest love of all though was her family, her mom and her 2 brothers, they were everything to her and anyone who met Maria knew how much she loved them. She loved all of her family and she definitely had a very big family. Maria simply loved life and everyone around her and yes, she had an attitude when she didn’t want to do something, but who could blame her. I probably would have an attitude if I had been thorough half of what Maria went through during the short time she was with us. She will truly be missed and has left a lot of us lost without her.
