Katherine "Kathy" (Dodgen) Odom

Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Louise Dodgen Odom, wife of the late Herman F. Odom of Augusta GA, entered into rest on April 27, 2022. 

Mrs. Odom was born in Augusta, GA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kathy spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was married to the love of her life until his death in 1999. Kathy loved life and spending time with her family and her fur babies - Duke, Daisy, Roscoe, Pedro and Bo. Kathy was a person who could see the best in a person. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with dignity and respect. She was loved by her family and the many children that she helped raise over the years. She has endured unimaginable loss throughout her life and she has always come through with the most beautiful smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jack and Doris Dodgen; and son, Daniel Jason Odom. Survivors include one son, Herman Allen Odom (Tawana) of Augusta GA; three  daughters, Doris Kelly Odom Lawson (Tremayne) of North Augusta, SC, Rebecca Leanne Odom (Derrick) of Augusta, GA, and Teresa Renee Odom Axon (Charles) of Harlem, GA; one bonus daughter, Charisse Hardge-Streetman (Anthony) of Augusta, GA;  three sisters, Annette Smith (David) of Evans, GA, Jackie Weathers (Thomas) of Thomson, GA, and Margaret Smith of Grovetown, GA; one brother, Danny Jack Dodgen of Augusta, GA; one aunt, Sandra Ansley (Bob-dec) of Atlanta, GA; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 2nd, 2022, with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating, in the Chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Augusta, Georgia 30907, with burial immediately following at West View Cemetery, 2051 Division Street, Augusta, GA 30904. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to service time.
