Jimmy "Jim" Dean Williams

Jimmy “Jim” Dean Williams went to rest peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. 

He was born December 28, 1946, in Huntsville, Alabama, son of late James and Lucille Williams. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a devoted husband for 30 years. Jim loved fishing, the Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs, but mostly he loved his family. He was employed at Sizemore Security for ten years leading up until his death. Jim was the definition of a true Gentleman, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jason Williams; his brother, Jerry Wayne Williams and his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Bess Williams (Augusta, GA); sisters, Debra Williams, and Peggy Hill; stepchildren, Mike Palmer (Lincolnton, GA),  Steve Palmer (Augusta, GA), Kim Pope and her husband Keith Pope (Grovetown, GA), Scott Palmer (Augusta, GA); grandchildren, Steven Palmer (Hattisburg, MS), Holli Golosky and husband Walter Golosky (Johns Island, SC), Jonathan Pope (Denver, CO), Stephanie Upchurch and husband Billy Upchurch (Roswell, GA), McCord Brickle (Southern Pines, NC), Sam Brickle (Augusta, GA) and Jake Palmer (Staten Island, NY); great-grandchildren, Hayley Brickle (Hampton, VA), William Brickle (California), Caden Palmer, Palmer Golosky, and Dean Upchurch; and many friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
