Mr. Jimmy Nelson Tinker, 75, of Thomson GA, beloved husband of 30 years to Susan Allen Tinker, entered into rest on December 5, 2020. A memorial service will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Thomson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronny Brannen officiating.
Mr. Tinker was born in Chattanooga TN, on June 2, 1945 and was the son of the late Scott Alexander Tinker and Jessie Grider Tinker. He had lived in the Augusta area since 1973 and had worked as a Registered Nurse for the Medical College of GA, Doctors Hospital, and the Augusta State Medical Prison. He loved working in his yard, cooking, and being with his grandchildren. He was an active member of Thomson First United Methodist Church and truly loved his church family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charlie Scott Tinker. Survivors include his wife Susan Tinker, a son Brandon Tinker, two grandchildren Davi and Alister Tinker, two sisters Jennie (Frank) Freeman and Barbara Sutherland both of Plains GA, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Thomson First United Methodist Church, 353 Main St., Thomson GA, 30824.
