Mr. James Edward "Jammy" Tucker, 87, entered into rest on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Gadsden, Alabama, to David Thomas Tucker and Jessie Lena Tucker.
In addition to being a spiritual, kind, and a generous man, he was an excellent provider for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Sheri Crabb (Bobby), Kim Hoyt (Kevin), and Marguerite Tucker; sons, Tommy Tucker and Scott Tucker (Kimberly); brothers, Leon Tucker (Becky) and John Tucker (Brenda) both of Summerville, GA; sister, Ann Tucker of Summerville, GA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After graduating Summerville High School in Georgia in 1955, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served aboard the USS Esteem. He had a successful career with Georgia Power working at both Plant Hatch and Plant Vogtle.
With 37 years of sobriety, his AA family was extensive and dear to him as well.
He loved the Lord, working with his hands, and riding his tractor. He enjoyed a long retirement which he spent mostly on his beloved farmland in Burke County.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907, followed by a gathering of family and friends for the sharing of memories at 2:00pm in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
