James Robert Gillman, 60, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
James was born April 25, 1963, in Northampton, Massachusetts, and grew up in Louisiana. He also lived in Richmond, Virginia, for many years as well as Augusta, Georgia. He graduated at Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Jean; and his father, Kenneth Nelson Gillman, Jr. He is survived by his children, Brittney Dowden, Paul Gillman, Ian Gillman, and Jordyn Greene; and his grandchildren, Grace, Eloise, and Vivian Dowden. He also leaves behind his soulmate and best friend for life, Naomi Cranfield; as well as his brothers and sisters, Diana Olsen, Daniel Gillman, Timothy Gillman, Michael Gillman, Kay Gillman, and Brian Gillman; and several nieces and nephews.
James served in the US Navy on the USS Carl Vinson and worked at Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant for many years.
James was lucky enough to have friends everywhere. He never met a stranger, he helped everyone. If you knew James, you were very lucky. If you couldn’t find him, just go to the lake and you’d find him there catching fish, giving them a kiss and then throwing them right back in the water. We all will miss you. Have fun in “The Great Gig in the Sky”.
