James Lloyd Dutton Jr

Bishop James Lloyd Dutton, Jr., beloved husband of 42 years to Phyllis King Dutton, of Evans GA, entered into rest on November 30, 2020. Mr. Dutton was born in Abbeville SC, on January 19, 1956 and was the son of Earline Peterman Dutton and the late James Lloyd Dutton, Sr. 

James was a lifelong minister, beginning his ministry at age 18 as an Evangelist for five years, after which he started a church in Marion, SC that he led as pastor for seven years. After serving in Marion, SC he moved to Augusta where he continued his ministry for over 34 years where he currently served as the pastor of The Worship Center of Augusta. Anyone who knew James knew that ministry was his life and his life was his ministry. His vision was to build a people of praise and worship and a people without prejudice. Through his ministry he was awarded an honorary doctorate of divinity from Florida Theological Seminary. He was an entrepreneur and had a vision for the marketplace helping to start the furniture store K's Koncepts. He was a faithful husband and even grew up in the same church with his wife. He was also a loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by three sons- James L. Dutton III, Matthew James Dutton, Isaiah James Dutton, three daughters- Kristen Dutton Young (Dustin), Kandace Dutton Lawrence (Nigel), Yessnia Marie Dutton, three brothers Rick Dutton, Tommy Dutton, and Joseph Dutton, and six grandchildren- Zion Young, Zoe Young, Zaydee Young, Zara Young, Sunday Rose Lawrence, and Valyntena Faith James Lawrence.
