Iverson “Bernie” Chavous Jr, 59, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at his home in Augusta Ga. Bernie was born in Tifton, Ga to the late Bernard "Iverson" Chavous and Barbara "Bobbie" Gilbert McKenzie. In addition to his parents Bernie is preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Hickerson.

He is survived by his children, two sons, Joe (Bonnie) Chavous and Zachary (Sandra) Chavous, three daughters, Jennifer (Thomas) Bowen, Jackie (Leon) Chavous, and Jessica Chavous; his brother Butch Harvey (Linda); sisters Wanda (Tom) Fleming and Beverley Colson; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at King Funeral Home.
