Gladys Earline (Knight) Lowe

Gladys Earline Lowe,81, entered into rest on March 16, 2023.

Gladys was born in Slidell, Louisiana, but spent the past 60 years in Grovetown, Georgia where she raised her family with her loving husband. Gladys was a woman with a big heart, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Memaw, Nan, or Nana as she was affectionately called by her family, enjoyed the beach, traveling, reading, and most recently completing her bucket list with her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She spent 39 years as a bus driver for the Columbia County School System. She and her husband spent 22 years as foster parent for many children who have remained a part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Melvin Eugene Lowe; her daughter, Judyann Waller (John); brother, Ralph Temple; and sister, Alice Faye Massingill. Survivors include her son, John Lowe (Leslie); daughters, Jane Douglas (Dicki) and Christy Munoz (Mark); son-in-law, John Waller; brother, John Booth (Maryann); grandchildren, Thomas Lowe (Stephanie), Ashleigh Phillips (Josh), Tara Sanford (Preston), Raven Jenkins (Kevin), Katelyn Hunnicutt (Gage), Richard Douglas (Hali), Shelby Douglas, and Michelle Driggers (Keith); great-grandchildren, Ayden, Austin, Cohen, Wyatt, Chandler, Keaton, Whitley, Cooper, Jaxi, and Silas.

Pallbearers will be Ayden Phillips, Thomas Krause, John Waller, Kevin Jenkins, Jackie Faulkner and Eric Temple.

Funeral services will held at 12:00pm on Monday, March 20, 2023, in the Chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, GA 30813, with Dr. Nick Bates officiating, and interment immediately following. The family will receive friends in the Chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens one hour prior to service time.

Gladys loved her church family, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Powell Baptist Church, 1577 Old Appling-Harlem Hwy, Harlem, Georgia 30814.
