Earl William Shimel

Mr. Earl William Shimel, 81, of Augusta, GA, entered into rest on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Shimel was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pearl Shimel; his younger brother, Ray Shimel; and his great-granddaughter, Adalynn. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda Shimel; his daughter, Deborah Shimel (Michelle); and granddaughter, Sarah Shimel.

Mr. Shimel retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and worked as an electrician before retiring. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors like hunting and fishing, playing guitar and visiting car shows on the weekends. In recent years his greatest hobby was watching his two great-grandchildren, Parker and Delanie, grow and play, and he absolutely adored being their Pop Pop. He will be greatly missed by everyone.  

The family will receive friends at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd, Martinez, GA 30907, with a memorial service following at 6:30pm in the Chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
