Donna Ruth Plants of Evans, GA would like you to know that her work here is done. On March 31, 2022, she retired to the most Beautiful Place. Her suffering was replaced with peace and joy. Her mother and father along with family and friends who preceded her arrival opened their arms and welcomed her to her Heavenly Home. Releasing her with bittersweet tears in her daughter's home were her husband and love of her life of 40 years, Mark A. Plants; her son, Robert D. Baker (Shana); her daughter, Lorri Lynn Gotcher and her son-in-law Joseph Jason Gotcher.
Born to Donald Fritts and Jackie McCullough, her journey started in Lexington, NC, and changed forever when she took a leap of faith in the late 1970s. She moved to Augusta, GA, determined to build a new life for herself and two children. She met her husband and their lifelong adventure began. She founded PHC Weight Loss & Wellness Centers, and with her husband and the children operated the company for the next 40 years with the slogan “Changing Lives Everyday.” And that, she did. She taught her children and those she served as clients and colleagues by her example every day. The family would like to thank Dr. Kamal Iyer and Dr. Shyam Iyer for their part in this journey. Donna was a creative person who loved to paint, draw, and decorate. She loved to travel and explore. She never, we mean never, forgot a birthday, graduation, or anniversary of hundreds of people for years and years. She was somehow good at all of things at the same time and moved through life, good and bad, with style and grace. She taught us to be the change we wish to see in the world and even had that bumper sticker on her car. She loved inspirational quotes and shared all the good ones with everyone she knew. She was loved by many and did her part to make this world a better place.
She is survived by her husband, of 40 years, Mark Plants; her son, Robert D. Baker (Shana); her daughter, Lorri Lynn Gotcher (husband Jason); her granddaughter, Lauren Michelle Kittilson; her grandsons, Anthony Dakota Brown, Addison Zane Gotcher and Jayden Elijah Gotcher; her great-granddaughters, Kennedy Baker and Isabelle Ibarra; and her brothers, Rod Fritts (Sangitha) and Tony Fritts (Xiaohong).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the Chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd, Martinez, GA 30907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
