Dewayne Garrett passed peacefully on May 4th 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his mother Patsy A. Garrett. Survivors include his wife Marian (Sissy) Garrett, sons Tyler D. Garrett and Ryan A. Garrett, father, Wayne Garrett, and Evelyn Mobley, sister Cindy (Lulu) Garrett, nieces, Anna Hall, Abigail Estevez and Hannah Rae James, Nephews Garrett Hall, Austin James, Logan James, Stephen Lamb and Justin Lamb and bonus nephew Blake Estevez. His Brother and Sister in Law David James spouse Kellie James. Soon to be Daughter in Law Angela Perez. Also, his little buddy Harley Davidson Garrett (dog).
Dewayne was a hardworking, loving father and husband. He loved to fish, hunt, shoot, go camping, ride his motorcycle and just be outdoors. He worked for the Richmond County Sheriffs Dept. 1991-1998, and then the Columbia County Reserves from 2001-2003. He worked for Potash Chemical Plant 1998-2013.
Dewayne fought a long and tiring battle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) for over 8 years. Though each day during this span was exhausting and painful, Dewayne kept his positive attitude and continued to be a loving husband to his wife and supportive father to his sons.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Cheselka officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
