Mr. David Allen Long, Jr., 46, beloved husband of Mrs. Christina Nicholson Long of Augusta, GA entered into rest on October 4, 2021 at 10:02 AM. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at King’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM on Friday morning, October 8, 2021 with the Reverend Shane Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery in Matthews, Georgia.

David is the son of David Allen Long, Sr. and the late Betty Jean “Jeannie” Long. He was born in Gainesville, Florida on February 13, 1975. Their family moved back to Blythe, Georgia in 1983. He graduated from Hephzibah High School in 1993 where he played football and continued playing at North Greenville College. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing football and wrestling with the Power Crew as “Big Bubba Brooks”.

David was a family man and football fan. He loved the Florida Gators, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He met his wife in 2013 and they married in 2016. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, whether it be a road trip or a cruise, to the beach or to the mountains. He loved his dogs, Bentley and Lola, like they were his children.

He was a devoted and loving husband, son, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Jean Long (Jeannie) and two sisters, Brandi LaShay Long and Anita Diane Long. He is survived by his wife, Christina Nicholson Long; his father, David Allen Long, Sr.; his sister, Sarah McDaniel (Corey); aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and one niece Oaklee Nicholson. Pallbearers will be Clay Brewer, Anthony Farrow, Jimi Blackburn, Brandon Carroll, Reggie Ross, Mark Long, David Eastman, and Chad Ligon. Honorable Pallbearers will be Ricky Williams, Chris Nabahe, Brandon Moon, Chris Scavone, and Mikel Messex.

The family will receive friends and family at King’s Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday evening, October 7, 2021. The family kindly requests that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced as much as possible at the services.
