Cynthia Womack Childress

Cynthia (Cid, Cindy) W. Childress, 67, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Cindy “Cid” was born on June 5, 1955, to Mary “Liz” Womack and Frank Everett Womack in Atlanta, GA, at Crawford Long Hospital. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She took pride in all things she loved and meant the most to her. She was a caregiver to the matriarch of our family. Cindy “Cid” was a great friend to most. She held her friendships close and her family closer. Cindy “Cid” was retired and enjoyed spending her time with her beloved husband and mother laughing, reading, antiquing, playing games, and enjoying all the beauty of the outdoors. She was a lover of all animals big and small, in particular her special Kiki cat companion who was always by her side.

Cindy “Cid” was preceded in death by her father, Frank Everett Womack; and her brother, Frank Everett “Buddy” Womack, Jr. She leaves behind her husband, Stephen Childress; son, Jason Childress and his significant partner, Julia Scott; sister, Tammi Aebi; brother, Scott Womack and sister-in-law Robyn Womack, sisters-in-law, Jennifer Main and Leslie Childress, brother-in-law, Kurt Main; nieces, Schuyler Aebi and Jillian Mabry; and nephews, Laken Aebi, Charlie Mabry, and Cooper Mabry.

At this time there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, we ask that instead you please make a donation in her memory to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org). Cindy’s “Cid's” family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the numerous friends who offered their love and support in the difficult days leading up to her passing.
