Betty Ruth (Odom) Pond

Betty Ruth (Odom) Pond, aged 78, residing in Martinez, Georgia, passed away on April 20, 2023, peacefully at home.

Betty Ruth, born on January 11, 1945, grew up in Augusta. She worked for many years at Augusta Christian Schools in the talent development program until her retirement after over 25 years of service.

In 1965, she married Vadis Arvin Pond Sr., and they went on to share 58 wonderful years. Betty Ruth lived a full life and touched the hearts of everyone around her. She was particularly devoted to the children in her community, both at Augusta Christian Schools and through ministry at Warren Baptist Church, where she was an active member. She loved Elvis, snowmen, and hosting gatherings for her large extended family.

Betty Ruth is survived by her husband, Vadis Arvin Pond Sr.; her daughter, Kimberly (Lyle) Hogue; her sons, Arvin (April) Pond and Michael (Kimberly) Pond; ten grandchildren; and her brother, Forrest T. (Kathy) Odom. Betty Ruth was a faithful Christian, and though her family will miss her, they are grateful to know she's now gone home to the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30907. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.
