Mrs. Amalia Eich Springer, age 89, widow of the late MSG (Ret) Wayne Howard Springer, entered into rest on March 14, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Bellevue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ray Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Springer was born in Mernes, Germany to the late Heinrich & Regina (Herold) Eich. She was the 8th of 13 children. She met the love of her life in Frankfurt, Germany and in 1971 after their second tour of duty to Germany, they made their home in Martinez, Ga.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to cook, bake, and make and fix things. She was a DIY'er before it was popular. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to their loving caregivers who have become like family: Keisha Jones, Audrey Robinson, Sheila Jones, Michelle Joyner, Ida Warthan, India Jones Hill, Denetra Green, Michelle Williams, also to South East Hospice, Dr. Paul Fischer, and Dr. Lauren Daniel.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kimberly Belk. Survivors include her son, Steven Springer of Martinez, Ga.: 2 daughters Annette Shipp (Ken) of Martinez, Ga., and Diann Belk (Charles) of Graniteville, SC: grandchildren Kimberly (Brandon), Brittany, Ryan (Laura Ann), Hannah, Hunter, and Paul (Megan): great grandchildren, Carley, Evelyn, Brooklyn, Weston, Braylee, Evan, Bella, Junior, and Tyler.
