Alma Joyner Obituary

Martinez GA: Alma “Maxine AKA Max-Maxie-Granny Max-Granny-Mom-Fred” Joyner

On May 15th, 2021 Maxine peacefully entered eternal rest at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Max was born in Overton County Tennessee to the late Aubra and Ethelene Webb. She was married to the late Theodore “Teddy” Joyner in 1961 and they resided in Ohio until the family relocated to Georgia in 1983. Max was a homemaker and so much more. She had the most beautiful smile, welcoming heart, caring nature, and a genuine gift of always making people feel special. The family home was always open to guests, random neighborhood kids/pets, and the coffee pot was always on. Friends were family in her book. She loved to travel, her unofficial middle name was “GO”, her travel bag was always packed and ready for the next adventure. Max was proceeded home by her husband Teddy of 46 years, their son Matthew, her parents Aubra and Ethelene Webb, her brothers Johnny, Clifton, Tommy, Richard and Donnie Webb, and her sisters Tammy Klein and Harriette Goodrich. Max is survived by her son Mark (Jackie) of Sardis, GA. Her daughter Margie (Dennis) of Martinez, GA. 4 Grandsons Michael Bryan and Matthew Joyner, Steven Smith, and Taylor Britt. One GREAT GRAND Daughter, who was the light of her life, Laila Cali Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 2021 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Thomas King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907. Maxine’s burial will be held on a later date as she will be joining the loves of her life, Teddy and Matthew, at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River, Ohio.
