Allene (Reynolds) Kelly

Allene Reynolds “Allie” Kelly passed away on September 1, 2023, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA, at the age of 84. Allie was born in Saluda County, SC, on December 31, 1938, to the late Mac Reynolds and the late Olivia Dozier Reynolds.  

Mrs. Kelly was a member of Stevens Creek Church, attending faithfully for many years. She volunteered with the Angel Tree and the annual Bookbag Giveaway. She had worked in several area restaurants as a hostess, as well as the Fresh Market. She loved to travel and had a green thumb like nobody else. She was affectionately called Grandma by her oldest grandsons, Nanny by her other grandchildren, and AuntNanny by her great-grandaughter Alayna.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by her son, Michael Player of Evans, GA; her daughters, Lynn (Rodney) Shaw of N. Augusta, SC, and Debbie (Rick) Maybee of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Michael (Callie) Byrd of Hartsville, SC, Jason DuBose of Hartsville, SC, Summer Lesesne of Florence, SC, Brittany (Chris) Brown of Hartsville, SC, Nick Miller of Augusta, GA, Summer (Jeremy) Coutts of Celina, TX, Tracy Baynham of Weaver, AL, Ryanne Baynham of Celina, TX , Stephen Maybee, of Evans, GA, and Christopher Maybee of Evans, GA; a very special son-in-law, David Baynham (Pam) of Augusta, GA; step-sons, Michael (Katy) Kelly of Martinez, GA, Kathleen (David) Jones of Grovetown, GA, and Thomas (Andrea) Kelly of Germany; and her step-daughter, Patricia Kelly of Germany. Mrs. Kelly is survived also by 16 great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her Goddaughter that she loved as her own, Donna Bazen of Hartsville, SC; a special nephew, Bobby Goff of Batesburg, SC; and her special companion, Rocky.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kelly was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Kelly; her daughter, Karen Baynham; son, Rodger DuBose; brother, LC Reynolds; and her sister, Carolyn Clark.

The family would like to thank Hospice of GA, especially Jordin, Kari, and Laquisha for their wonderful care of our mother.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in the Atrium at Stevens Creek Church, 600 Stevens Creek Rd., Augusta, GA, with Pastor Marty Baker officiating.
