Albert McIlvaine Obituary

Evans, GA. – Albert Fredrick Keim McIlvaine, 89, entered into rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022, at Veterans Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in his hometown of Frankfort, Ohio, later this summer at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ross County, Ohio, USA.

Al was born on October 1st, 1932, in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA, the son of the late Charles P. and Mary Elizabeth Keim McIlvaine.

Surviving are his son, Keim (Kathy) McIlvaine of New Albany, OH; sister, Mary Ellen Sheridan of Asheville, NC; granddaughters, Chelsea and Megan McIlvaine of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Christine Chase of Augusta, GA; and God-daughter, Judy English and her son Colen of Indiana.

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Nina; son, Steve; brother, Charlie, and sister-in-law Nancy (Ulrey); his parents, and stepfather, Reginald Blue.

Al met his wife to be, Nina, at Green Street Presbyterian Church while he was an Officer at Fort Gordon. Nine months later they were married and shortly afterwards moved to Al’s family farm in southern Ohio. Ten years later Albert was called into the ministry and after graduating from The Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio, they served three churches in Ohio. He was an avid golfer and continued playing 36 holes in a day in his early 80’s. As a graduate of The Ohio State University, he was a big fan of their football and basketball programs.

Al’s passion was reading theology books and was a Christian educator and counselor to many people. He was loving, kind, and always had time to say a prayer for others in need. During his life, he saved countless souls and lives.  Al will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
