Yone Peterson, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born in Miyagi-ken, Japan on March 30, 1933, to Buntaro and Matsu Tsuda.  Yone was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who retired from J.B. White/Dillards as a Seamstress. She was a member at Pierce Memorial Methodist Church serving there for over 20 years.

Yone was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Buel E. Peterson; son, B. Charles (Chuck) Peterson; daughter, Penny A. Banks; and granddaughter, Michelle A. Law. Yone is survived her daughter, Kathy J. Athon (James, deceased); sons, Frank A. Peterson (Pam), and Troy S. Peterson (Brigitte); 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 2nd, 2023, at Pierce Memorial Methodist Church, 1441 Jackson Rd, Augusta, GA 30909. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yone's name to the Pierce Memorial Methodist Church general fund.
