Obituary

Mrs. Wilma Colleen Norris, 87, of Grovetown, gained her heavenly reward on May 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is reunited with the love of her life, Colen Norris, and is no doubt walking with our Lord looking over her children.

Wilma or Willie as she was called by her husband was known for her chocolate pies and her colored easter egg potato salad. She loved the beach and she and her husband frequented St. Augustine as often as they could. She also loved to fish be it on Fort Gordon Properties, Clark Hill, or Ridge Road.

She also had a varied love of music, her favorites being Loretta, Conway, Buck and Merle. Although she knew Rufus and could do the funky chicken with the best of them.

Wilma is survived by her children, Julie Norris Williams and husband David, Gary Lee Norris and wife Pam, John David Norris and wife Tracy, and Susan Norris Lane and husband Jeff; 14 grandchildren, Katie Dixon (Spencer), Brent Ussery (Brittany), Mickey Ussery, Gary Norris Jr. (Beth), Jamie Hildebrant (James), Jessica Watts(James), Jennifer Norris, Samantha Norris, Zachary Jacelon (Morgan), Kaleb Coral (Victoria), Thomas Champagne Jr. (Morgan), Joria Brooks (Frankie), Jacob Brooks (Marisol) and Emily Lane; as well as 18 great grandchildren and soon to be great grandchild Sophia.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jack Foley officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jacob Brooks, Spencer Dixon, Gary Norris Jr., and James Watts. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to St Jude, the American Cancer Society, Golden Harvest Food Bank, the Wounded Warriors, or the Kidney Foundation.

She was one of the toughest women you would ever meet having been a proud military wife raising 4 children often alone while her husband was away on deployment. She will be deeply missed but her memory will live on in every strum of a guitar, every bite of pie and every loving story told by those who were lucky enough to call her family.
