William Santiago Maldonado Sr., 78, entered into rest on Saturday, June 1, 2024. He is survived by his sister, Martha Torres, who lovingly cared for him in his final years; his two children, William and Sabrina Santiago; his granddaughter, Sofie; his sister, Gloria; nieces, Leslie, Sharon, Amanda, and  Lynette; nephews, Anthony and Saul; daughter-in-law, Melissa; son-in-law, Timothy; friends, Shawn and John; as well as many other, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

Father, brother, abuelo, tio, son, William went by all of these titles and to his family he was so much more. William could be serious but also quick to laugh, make a funny face or a joke and make others laugh with him. William was a patriot, fiercely devoted to his country serving 30 years in the U.S. Army, and proud to be an American.  He loved baseball, Westerns, Sci Fi, listening to The Oldies, and watching movies but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Whether it was a game of dominoes, a deep conversation over coffee, or a chat on the phone he was there for everyone. William adored his sister, Martha- his best friend, and doted on his nieces, nephews, children, and grandchild.

William joins many loved ones in Heaven. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Maldonado; father, Manuel Santiago; and siblings, Victor and Magdalia.

William will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, his silly faces, and his loud and infectious laugh. His absence will be deeply felt, and he will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in the chapel at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Road, Martinez GA 30907. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
