Obituary

William H. Knauss, 84, originally from Allentown, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 19, 2026. He was born November 9, 1941 and was the son of the late Clarence Knauss and Dorothy (Trine) Knauss. He was the loving husband of Patricia A (Ruddell) Knauss. He was also the loving father to Linda (Knauss) Vitacco; father-in-law to Michael Vitacco; and grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Christian and Amelia Vitacco. William is also survived by his loving sister, Joyce (Knauss) Wolgamuth and many nieces and nephews.

William was a graduate of William Allen high school. He was an electrician and worked in his trade for many years. He was self-employed throughout his career and also worked as the head of maintenance for companies such as Diamonex and Days Inn. He also enjoyed hobbies, such as landscaping and studying antiques. William’s main passion was his family. He enjoyed family gatherings with his wife, Patricia of 59 years. He was also very close to his sister, Joyce, and enjoyed his time getting together with her and her husband, Luther Wolgamuth. William and his wife later moved to Georgia to be close to his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. He adored his family, spoiled his grandchildren, and ensured that there was always a barbeque going or wonderful spread of food for family functions. William particularly loved Halloween and enjoyed putting on elaborate and spooky parties for his grandchildren. William will be immensely missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jean and Shirley, and his brother Donald Knauss.

Per William’s wishes no services will be held.

Thomas L. King Funeral Home in Martinez, Ga is in charge of arrangements.
