Wayne C. Pitts, 80, beloved husband of 62 years to JoAnne Pitts, entered into rest peacefully at home on Friday, April 12, 2024. He was born in Augusta GA in 1943 and was a lifelong resident.

Wayne worked in the maintenance department at Riverside Mill for 25 years before starting his own construction business.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jewel Pitts. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne; daughter, Lucy P. Ellis (Eric); son, Jason Pitts (Bilynn); grandchildren, Heather McMaster (David) and Emery Keys; great-grandchildren, Aubrey McMaster, Owen McMaster, and Declan McMaster; brothers, Phillip "Buddy" Pitts, Hershel Pitts (Stephanie), Neal Pitts (Carol), and Tim Pitts (Susan); sister-in-law, Jackie C. Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne loved camping, fishing, and hiking in the Smoky Mountains, and just riding on small country mountain roads with his wife. He was talented and loved to draw portraits of those he knew. Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the Fresenius Kidney Care Augusta and Pruitt Hospice for their help, care, and kindness.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, April 19, 2024, in the sanctuary at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4943 Columbia Road, Grovetown GA 30813, with Pastor Floyd Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.
