Mr. Wayne Ellington, 79, of Grovetown, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, surrounded by his children.

Wayne was a long-time Augusta area resident and retired from Bellsouth as a manager and even worked with his son at Mr. Golf Carts following his retirement from Bellsouth. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, and he always looked forward to his reunions with all his Navy buddies. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren, and he enjoyed going to the races as well. He also loved his fur babies and was a “Mr. Fix it” who could fix just about anything. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Dorothy Ellington, and his wife of 42 years Linda Ellington.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth Ellington, Tammy Ellington, Donna Ellington Costello (Frank); his siblings, Max Ellington and Carolyn Tomlinson; and his grandchildren, Frankie, Sophia, and Haley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Oscar Whiteside Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
