Walter Maurice Hering Jr entered into rest on the morning of Monday, April 19th. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Maurice Hering Sr and his mother Mary C. Hering. He is survived by his step-mother Carol Hering; two children and their spouses, Sally A. McMahon (daughter), Corey E. Hering (son), J. Andrew McMahon (son-in-law), and Jessica R. Hering (daughter-in-law); seven grandchildren, Genevieve, Abram, and Theodore (Sally); Eddie, Evalyn, Ford, and Abigail (Corey); as well as family, Wayne and Melba Moseley. Walter attended The Academy of Richmond County. He later attended Augusta Technical College and Augusta College, graduating from the former with a degree in automobile mechanics. Walter loved fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. The family invites all who knew and loved Walt to a visitation on Tuesday, April 27th from 6:00-8:00PM at King Funeral Home located at 124 Davis Rd, Matinez, GA. There will be a memorial service held at the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel on Wednesday, April 28th at 11:00AM.
