Walter Teasley Harris of Evans GA, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on January 16, 2026.

Walter is the beloved husband of 62 years to Patricia Buck Harris and the loving father of Tracy Harris. Walter grew up in Augusta, GA, and was a 1956 graduate of Richmond Academy.  

Many remember him as the kid who delivered the newspaper on his cushman scooter with his dog Ricky riding along. After high school he served for 4 years in the US Coast Guard, stationed primarily in the southeast, and took pride in having transited the Panama Canal. Walter retired from DeKalb County after a 30 year career in the Tax Appraiser's Office. Walter enjoyed spending time with his friends (alaways happy to tease and joke with them), riding motorcycles, collecting antiques and working on his property in Stone Mountain. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

The family will have private services at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that you make donations to St. Jude or to the CSRA Humane Society.
