Virginia Lee Simmons Patterson was born July 31st, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina, and went to be with the Lord October 17th, 2022 in Augusta, Georgia.

She worked at JM Field, Silver Steins, Kroger and as a waitress at multiple locations. She was a servant of the Lord to whatever she did in life. Charleston, South Carolina,  was where her heart was but lived in Augusta, Georgia, for all of her five children. Any one who came across her loved her . She always had a smile and sweet greeting to whom ever she met.  She loved animals and fed everyone she could to make sure they knew they were special too!  She loved nick nacks and collected all kinds of things. She was a member of Living Waters Church and was Baptized on September 6th, 2020, Dedicating herself back to the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Ardel Simmons and Ethel Smallwood Simmons; Two brothers, James Simmons, and Larry Simmons;  two Sisters, Shirley Rivers(Butch), and Ruthy Easterland; and husband, Charles Patterson. Survivors include five Children, John Melanaphy, Katherine Newsome(Richard), Brenda Carr(Gary), Barbara Messer, and Michael Hall(Lee Ann); three brothers, Carl Simmons(Judy), David Simmons(Wanda), and Ricky Simmons(Linda);  one sister, Betty Fewox(Hiram); fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at Living Waters Full Gospel Church, 1319 Community Park Road, Augusta, GA 30909
