Toshiko Adaniya Fries, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 93.
Toshiko is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Richard "Mike" Fries, and their loving daughter, Patricia Cunningham Rogers, and her husband, Sam Rogers. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Wyatt Cunningham and his wife Courtney, and their daughter Sadie; Russell Cunningham and his son Grayson; Dean Rogers and his wife Lindsey, and their children Kade, Aly, and Zachary; Sam Rogers and his wife Melissa, and their children Bryce, Sam, Grace, Ethan, and Aubrey; and Lori Oakley and her daughter Elayna.
Throughout her life, Toshiko was blessed with many wonderful friends whose love and companionship enriched her days and brought her great joy. Her gentle spirit, compassion, and unwavering loyalty made her a treasured presence in the lives of those who knew her.
Toshiko's warmth, grace, and quiet strength touched every life she encountered. Her deep love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion that will continue to live on through each generation of her family.
She will be remembered with love, missed dearly, and honored always.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service.
