Tony
Hogan
Apr 18, 1947 — Jul 13, 2026
Tony Lee Hogan, lovingly known to so many as "Papa," went home to be with Jesus on July 13, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on April 18, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, Tony was proud to call Augusta home throughout his life. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War before dedicating 33 years of service as a UPS driver, where his strong work ethic and friendly smile became well known.
Tony was the devoted husband of Connie Meadows Hogan, whom he married on September 6, 1969. Together they built a life centered on family, riding horses, days at the lake, and caring for others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his son, Duane Hogan; his daughter, Shannon Hogan Fredericks and her husband, Stevie; his granddaughters, Taylor Jones (Lewis), Kendyl Babcock (Bo), Myranda McKee (Shawn), Sawyer Fredericks, Harper Fredericks, and Eliot Fredericks; his brother, Ron Hogan and his wife, Cindy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family members whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Willie Mae Hogan, his sister, Joyce Allen, and his daughter-in-law, Angie Hogan.
To know Tony was to know kindness, and you could always hear him coming from a whistle away. He never met a stranger, always wore a smile, and was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren's games or dance recitals, teaching them how to drive a boat, showing them how to bait a hook, or simply offering a listening ear, he made everyone around him feel loved, supported, and important. His infectious laugh, positive spirit, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
His greatest joy was his family. He loved them wholeheartedly and took care of them in every way he could. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his patience, compassion, and unwavering love.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Parkway Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of Tony's life at 1:00 p.m.
In honor of Tony, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt, a fitting tribute to something he loved and was so often seen wearing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Parkway Baptist Church, Grills for Guardians or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Tony's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
