GROVETOWN, Ga. - Thomas M. Coursey, Jr., son of Thomas M. and Helen Tankersley Coursey, Sr., entered into rest at Doctors Hospital on December 30, 2014. Thomas was a graduate of Grovetown High School, and a Columbia County native. He was employed by Mellow Mushroom. His favorite pastime was skateboarding and listening to music. When he was not working you could find him with his skateboard. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and a friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Coursey and Uncle Bodie Sanders. Survivors include his parents, Thomas M. and Helen Tankersley Coursey, Sr.; siblings, Leigh Coursey, Linz Coursey, and Devin Coursey; niece, Bayleigh Coursey; nephew, Ryan Lowe; grandparents, Albert and Dolores Tankersley, and Hazel and Wyman Clark; uncles, Louis (Cathy) Tankersley, and Dwayne (Kelly) Coursey; aunts, Lorna T. (Fiance Randy Beasley) Sanders, and Kathleen (Ken) Mermelstein; and a number of cousins. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bellevue Memorial chapel with Rev. Rick Slagle officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
