AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest at GRU on April 12, 2016, Miss Tammy K. Canady, daughter of Mr. Veroy Canady and the late Doris Adele Smith Canady of Augusta. She lived all of her life in Augusta. Tammy began her employment with Augusta-Richmond County on February 25, 1991, where she worked as a deputy clerk in the Real Estate Division of the Augusta-Richmond County Clerk of Court's Office under then Clerk J. Lester Newsome. Under current Clerk of Courts, Elaine C. Johnson, Tammy worked in Superior Court's Civil Division and general Accounting Division before being promoted to Accounting Supervisor. On April 7, 2007, Tammy transferred from the Clerk's office to the Augusta Judicial Circuit Superior Court, where she was the case manager for the Hon. J. Carlisle Overstreet and the Hon. Carl C. Brown, Jr. for more than eight years. On August 29, 2015, she became the Director of Jury Services for Augusta-Richmond County. After the death of her mother, she stepped in and became a caregiver for her father. She was a master basket weaver. She had a special friend she loved dearly, Charlie. Pallbearers: Hon. Carl C. Survivors: father, Veroy Canady, Augusta; brother, Michael V. Canady (wife, Debbie), Martinez; nephew, John Michael Canady (wife, Nikki), Appling. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Ken Gross officiating in Westview Cemetery in Augusta. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. Visitation will be tonight at the Thomas L.
