Mrs. Shirley Reid Dye Sturgis, 89, of Evans, passed away on July 30, 2025.

Mrs. Shirley was a lifelong Augusta area resident and a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church for over 31 years. She enjoyed sewing, her flowers, camping and traveling with Hunting Island and Helen being her favorite places to visit. She also enjoyed being outdoors spending some quiet time sitting on the porch at the farm listening to the cows. Family was of upmost importance to her. She loved to spend time with all of her family especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Grace Reid; her first husband, Tony Dye; 2 brothers and one grandchild.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Sturgis; her children, Alan Dye (Maria), Angie Fowler (Alan), and Sharon Neidlinger (Edward); her sister, Sara Messerly; 7 grandchildren, Mac Dye, Matthew Dye, Torianna Wheeler, Alisse Fowler, Jacob Fowler, Jesse Neidlinger, and Taylor Chance; 10 great grandchildren, Harper Dye, Cooper Dye, Ellie Dye, Addi Dye, Stella Neidlinger, Sutton Neidlinger, Barrett Wheeler, Beau Wheeler, Georgia Fowler, Holt McKinney; as well as many other extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Fowler, Philip Wheeler, Aaron McKinney, Mackenzie "Mac" Dye, Matthew Dye, Jesse Neidlinger, Barrett Wheeler, Beau Wheeler, and Matthew Chance.
