Sheri Ellis Barrow, 59, of Grovetown, passed away on August 12, 2026.

Sheri’s life was a testament to caring and compassion. As someone who never met a stranger, she radiated warmth and was deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her giving spirit touched countless lives, especially through her work, where she was known and loved by her patients at the VA. Sheri had a special gift for making others feel valued and cared for, and her commitment to her work reflected her genuine passion for helping those around her.

A woman with a zest for adventure, Sheri found joy in travel—whether it was exploring the vibrant energy of New York, unwinding on sunlit beaches, or setting sail on cruises to distant shores. She also enjoyed the serenity of camping at the lake with friends, cherishing those peaceful moments and the camaraderie that came with them. Her love for her loyal furbabies was well-known and speaks to her nurturing nature.

Family was at the heart of Sheri’s world. She is survived by her devoted son, Chadd Pittman; her loving father, Rodney Ellis; her caring mother, Nina Ellis; her sister, JoAnne Frey; her grandchild, Allie; her best friend, LaDonna Jenkins; and her uncle, Robert Cornelius. Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs. Sheri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Barrow. The memories they made together remain treasured by all who knew them.

Sheri’s capacity to care for and brighten the lives of others has left an enduring impression. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her devotion to those she loved, and the unshakeable kindness that defined her every day. To know Sheri was to feel genuinely welcomed and accepted.

Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, patients, and all who were fortunate enough to have been part of her life. Sheri Ellis Barrow will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
