It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Shelby Alina Hornback on July 18, 2024 in Augusta, GA at the age of 32.

Shelby was born on September 19, 1991 in Voorhees, New Jersey to parents Vernon T. Hornback, Jr. and Tamela J. Reed Hornback. She grew up in North Augusta, SC alongside her siblings, and attended North Augusta High School where she graduated in 2010.

Shelby will be missed dearly. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She had a strong-willed personality, beautiful smile, and generous heart. Please take comfort in the fact that she is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Shelby is preceded in death by her grandparents, Vernon T. Hornback, Sr. and Alice P. Hornback, and Randall O. Reed and Linda F. Reed. She is survived by her parents, Vernon T. Hornback, Jr. and Tamela J. Reed Hornback; her siblings, Jennifer Angelone, Leah McCollum, Vernon T. Hornback III, and Kelsey McCaslin; and her nieces and nephews, Christian Angelone, Evelyn Angelone, Victor McCollum, Thomas McCollum, Henry McCollum, and Trevor Hornback.

Shelby's surviving children include Ariah Baughman, Braedyn Hornback, Mikayla Hornback, and Summer Hornback.

Shelby's services will be celebrated privately amongst immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her honor to Kosairs for Kids ( www.kosair.org/tribute ).
