IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sallie Anne
Holbrook
March 18, 1969 – December 8, 2024
Sallie Anne Holbrook, known to some as Grace Waters, left us on December 8, 2024. She lived life on her own terms.
Sallie was born in Gainesville, Florida, but grew up in Texas, Arizona, and California. She caught the traveling bug early on - Washington, D.C., at three weeks old and Mexico City at three months old. There were numerous cross-country trips to visit family. As life went on, there were mission trips to Mexico as well as family trips to Canada and Alaska. As an adult, she and her brother, Jon, backpacked through Europe, visiting The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece. Then there was the solo trip to England and Paris. During her time at Augusta University, she visited China and Peru. And now she is traveling in Eternity.
She had numerous favorite things, including, but not limited to, the TV shows Bones, Castle, and The Mentalist, movies such as The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, and 12 Monkeys, and activities like being out in the world, talking to people, coloring with Grayson, measuring everything, collecting library cards, and observing bluebirds. Some of her favorite foods were Miss Becky's fajitas, Jon's Rice Krispie treats, shrimp, vanilla bean ice cream, and fruit.
She has joined those who have gone on before her - her father, Reverend Dr. A. C. (Buddy) Holbrook; her maternal grandparents, George and Martha Berry; her paternal grandparents, Reverend A. C. and Sallie Holbrook; and all her paternal aunts and uncles. Those left behind are her mother, Becky Holbrook; her brother, Jon Holbrook; her maternal uncle and aunt, George and Julie Berry; and many cousins and many friends.
As per her wishes, she was cremated and no service is planned.
The family wishes to thank all those who loved her and cared for her. Special thanks to the sixth-floor south staff at Wellstar who made her last days comfortable.
